Program: Description: As the Canadian population ages, the need for Personal Support Workers is dramatically increasing. Students will receive hands on training in PSW foundations and certifications in WHMS Awareness, Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA), and CPR/First Aid with Heartstart.

Program: Description: Community Services Workers (CSWs) graduates will learn how to counsel clients and help them through a multitude of issues. Courses include Psychology, Group and Human Relations, and more to equip them to work for human service agencies and healthcare facilities, and to coordinate client and/or volunteer activities.

Pharmacy AssistantDuration: 32 WeeksInternship: 6 Weeks
Program: Description: Be a part of the growing medical field as a Pharmacy Assistant. Students of this program will learn how to accurately process prescriptions, extemporaneous compounding techniques, pharmacy software process, retail pharmacy best practices, anatomy and physiology terminology, pharmacy mathematics and CPR and First Aid.

Physiotherapy AssistantDuration: 43 WeeksInternship: 10 Weeks
Program: Description: Physiotherapy Assistants administer rehabilitation treatments to patients under the direction of and/or in assistant to a Physiotherapist. Students of this program will attend workshops in anatomy at the University of Guelph. They will also receive CPR and First Aid training.

Medical TranscriptionistDuration: 51 WeeksInternship: 8 Weeks
Program: Description: Students of this program will learn medial report formatting, Microsoft training, and keyboarding techniques mandatory for the role. Graduates will understand the human anatomy and its many systems as well as become eligible to write the Registered Medical Transcriptionist exam through the Association of Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI)
Career Opportunities: MTs can find work in hospitals, clinics, physician’s offices, transcription services, insurance companies, home healthcare agencies, and other locations where dictation for the purpose of healthcare documentation requires transcription.
